I am a senior lawyer with more than 25 years’ experience supporting clients in the telecoms/digital infrastructure sector, with particular expertise in subsea work.

I am routinely instructed on large subsea/submarine cable projects across EMEA, Asia and the Americas and regularly advise on other infrastructure projects.

After qualification I spent time in-house/head of legal roles with various telecoms operators, generally focussing on infrastructure work, including acting as sole counsel to a trans-Atlantic submarine cable system. I have spent the last sixteen years working for a fantastic client base both on big subsea projects and supporting more general communications work.

Legal Specialties

I have particular expertise in subsea networks, advising on all aspects of submarine cable work (consortium/private/open cable arrangements), including C&MAs/JBAs, landing party/backhaul agreements, crossing agreements, branch builds and network sales.

I also negotiate/advise on new data centre arrangements and terrestrial network rollouts (capacity/dark fibre/colo).

What Clients Say

That I am an industry lawyer and friendly, flexible and inventive. Responsive and diligent. That I have excellent industry knowledge and experience, an ability to quickly identify issues/offer workable solutions and a commercial and collaborative approach.

Behind the lawyer

When not slaving away at the telecoms law coal-face, I like to hang-out with my sons, walk/run on the South Downs, swim and listen to 1980s music.
