I am a General Counsel who helps clients navigate their various banking and financial services legal needs. I have worked in large banks, start-ups and scale up organisations delivering transactional support, legal advice and implementing projects, policies and governance.

What are your legal specialities?

I am a banking and financial services lawyer and cover most aspects of debt finance whether lending or borrowing money, investments, regulatory/compliance and governance. I have experience in debt capital markets transactions and private M&A.

As a GC, I have been exposed to a wide array of other legal issues that require advice, guidance and responsibility.

What do clients say?

“Adam is a motivated and skilled lawyer who works hard to deliver the right and good results”. I am a valued member of the team and take time to understand the business and its people. I foster a collegiate approach with all stakeholders.

Behind the lawyer

I love jazz music and perform jazz guitar – big fan of Pat Metheny! I enjoy walking, and now with Arlo, our lab! I learnt a lot during my MSc sabbatical year studying Social Psychology leading to my interest in social impact investment.

Before Arbor

I worked at Clifford Chance and Skadden in capital markets and M&A deals from 1994-2003. I joined Citigroup’s legal team in 2003 and became a Director in the Investment Bank.  Subsequently, I served as Bank GC at Close Brothers from 2010 and then as Head of Legal at Co-op Bank during its restructuring.

Since then, I have continued to work across financial services, including most recently with an asset manager in social impact investment. I have gained valuable experience as a non-executive Trustee with charity boards.
