I’m an experienced corporate lawyer. Over the past 40 years, I have shepherded all kinds of companies through countless transactions, some routine, others transformational. I also have significant management experience in large law firms (including the negotiation of a merger with the world’s largest law firm). Over the years I have developed a great international network to support clients' growth plans. As well as advising clients on corporate matters at Arbor Law, I will be working with the co-founding team in a non-executive advisory role to help develop and implement strategic aims.

I started my career at Maclay Murray & Spens, going on to McKenna & Co (now CMS) returning to Maclay Murray & Spens a Corporate Partner including a term as Head of Corporate and Chief Executive. I later joined Dentons UK and Middle East as Senor Partner, Scotland.

Legal Specialties

I focus on M&A, private equity/venture capital, joint venture and other commercial deals across a broad range of sectors.

Having worked with start–ups to listed companies and various private entrepreneurs and PE backers, I have a thorough understanding of the needs and approaches of businesses large and small. My practice regularly involves the management and coordination of multi–disciplinary teams, interfacing with clients and other advisers.

What Clients Say

That I’m measured, thoughtful and considered with a tactful, diplomatic style and strong interpersonal and relationship building skills which I use to help clients achieve their objectives.

Behind the lawyer

I’m a bit of a sports nut, with particular interests in football, rugby, golf and tennis (but I’ll watch pretty much anything!). Occasional marathon runner and (as a recently acquired ‘’lockdown skill’’) bread baker. As much family time as they will all allow me!
