I am a senior legal counsel who works closely with management teams to help them navigate complex commercial, regulatory, and transactional issues with confidence. With extensive experience across telecommunications, technology, outsourcing, and the professional and public sectors, I provide clear, practical advice in fast-moving and often highly regulated environments.

Clients value my pragmatic, solutions-focused approach. I take the time to understand commercial objectives as well as legal risk, enabling well-reasoned decisions that support both immediate priorities and long-term strategy.

Alongside my advisory work, I have a strong track record in leading and developing legal and commercial teams, fostering collaborative, knowledge-sharing cultures where people and organisations perform at their best. As a qualified company secretary, I also advise on corporate governance, risk management, and policy development, helping boards and executives operate with clarity, confidence, and good judgement.

Legal Specialties

Drawing on more than two decades of senior-level experience, I deliver commercially grounded, solution-oriented legal support covering a broad range of commercial and strategic matters, including:

  • Complex contractual transactions
  • Software licensing, SaaS, outsourcing and collaboration agreements
  • Multi-jurisdictional regulatory and compliance matters
  • Telecommunications (including 5G network deployment)
  • Public sector procurement and government contracting
  • Employment law and organisational governance
  • High-value negotiations, disputes and commercial strategy

I began my legal career at BT Plc, where I trained as a solicitor and spent 14 years building a deep understanding of complex, large-scale commercial and regulatory environments. During my time at BT, I progressed into senior leadership roles, including Chief Counsel for UK Public Sector Transactions, BT Security, and Group Engineering Services, working closely with business leaders on strategically important and often high-profile matters.

I later joined Ericsson, where I served as Senior Legal Counsel and subsequently as Head of Legal Services for the UK & Ireland. As a core member of senior leadership teams, I advised on complex commercial, regulatory, and compliance issues across multiple jurisdictions. I was also a director and company secretary of L.M. Ericsson Limited (Ireland) and led a high-performing legal team supporting software, hardware, cloud, managed services, and emerging technologies, including AI, automation, and private networks. I regularly represented Ericsson in high-stakes negotiations, bringing a commercially focused and solutions-driven approach to challenging discussions.

Alongside my in-house roles, I founded and ran a consultancy business, advising clients across the technology and public sectors. Today, as a Senior Commercial & Telecommunications Consultant at Arbor Law, I draw on more than two decades of senior-level experience to provide practical, commercially grounded legal support that helps clients move forward with confidence.

Behind the lawyer

Outside of work, you’ll often find me poolside. I’m married with one son who is a competitive swimmer, and I’m also an Amateur Swimming Association official, so weekends are frequently spent at swim meets—where focus, fairness, and calm decision-making matter just as much as they do in my professional life. When I’m not at the pool, I’m usually outdoors. I enjoy hill walking and skiing, and closer to home I’m a keen gardener—whether it’s tending to the garden or heading for higher ground, I value the perspective and balance that comes from being outside.
