The new Legal Operations division will be led by Neil Smith, a legal operations specialist who has significant experience working with GCs, corporates and in-house legal teams to help them improve productivity, reduce costs and focus on value creation.
Neil said: “There has been dramatic growth in legal operations over the past decade. Progressive legal teams understand the benefit of engaging with an expert who can help them deliver results to their business partners and stakeholders. Having seen how a successful legal operations programme translates into improved satisfaction from sales teams, accelerated contract turnaround times and better management information, I am looking forward to engaging with Arbor Law’s clients to deliver this support.”
The business has been joined by employment law specialist Fiona Morgan who will be leading the employment law practice. Fiona is a senior employment lawyer with over 17 years’ experience in advising a diverse range of corporate clients on employment law issues. Fiona was formally co-head of Employment Law at Kennedy’s.
Fabienne d’Adhemar has also joined the team. Fabienne is an experienced litigator. She was previously at Mishcon de Reya and SJ Berwin. Fabienne will be working with companies across a wide range of industries to resolve their commercial disputes as well as representing individuals.
Dan Adams Arbor Law co-founder commented: “As a team of senior in-house lawyers, investing in a legal operations expert is a logical step for the business and the in-house legal team clients we serve. We are lucky to have Neil’s invaluable insight and experience to help us develop this. We also look forward to offering clients an expanded range of services from employment to dispute management as we continue to grow our team.”
